When Is Your Next Show?
I am so excited that you have been with me on my journey to become a figure competitor! It’s like we all have been training together, dialing in our diets together and like you were all at my first competition with me!
I have received so much support from you and so many great questions from you. I want to try to answer as many as I can.
Quite a few people have asked me, “Cori Ann, when is your next show?”
When Is Your Next Show?
It’s a great question! Here’s the thing, I wasn’t expecting to compete in the NPC Contra Costa Championships. My first show was supposed to be 3 weeks later at a natural show designed for novice competitors.
I still can’t believe I became “competition ready” ahead of schedule. I definitely can’t believe I placed 2nd at my first show and qualified for nationals, especially since it was an NPC show.
I will still be competing in the show that was originally supposed to be my first show, the Orange County Natural Championships. It should be a lot of fun because this organization allows “cross overs.” What that means is that I am able to cross over and compete in 3 different divisions, Figure, Bikini and Fitness Model.
There’s also a theme wear round and a club wear round. That means I will get a little extra time on stage. More time on stage means more time to get the jitters out and more practice to strut confidently. It also means a couple of wardrobe changes, different poses, different rules and different judges.
My Next Step
I definitely have some thinking to do now that I have placed well within the NPC.
I was planning to focus on competitions that have been designated “natural” and are drug tested since I am a completely natural competitor.
I was honestly slightly intimidated by the NPC since most shows aren’t drug tested or designated “natural.” Now I have seen that I don’t need to be intimidated by the NPC even though I’m smaller than most other competitors and completely natural. It is a very empowering feeling!

Different Organizations? Different Divisions?
Curious what the differences are between some of the different organizations? You can check out the differences between a few of the main organizations in my post, “Figure, Fitness Model or Bikini?”
